First Person Sorcery
First Person Sorcery (FPS) is a 2-4 player arena shooter where players verse each other over several rounds until one player has three wins. At the end of each round, all players that died get to select a power-up and the game continues on a new map!
This game was my final year university project which I developed over ten weeks with nine other students. My primary role was the Creative Director, for which I held the design goals for the game and led its development. Additionally, I was the main Level Designer and helped with environment art, programming and UI art.

Maps
Each map was designed in such a way to keep the gameplay fair for every player, this meant keeping things reasonably symmetrically in each quadrant. This is important to ensure players do not have an unfair advantage, or disadvantage, depending on where they spawn in.
A muted colour palette was used on the environment to help the players stand out as they run around. Darker versions of the player colours were also used on their respective spawn areas to help with orientation. Simple signposting was implemented with things such as archways, bridges, ramps and paths to help guide players meet each other in the middle of the map.
